A gift for your beloved is always the hardest of all, especially after you've been together for a few years. Or that's at least how it is with me! But no worries the boyfriends perfect gift – or so I hope – is already wrapped and lying underneath the tree.

Here are some gift ideas that didn't make it (Sorry darling).

–Diana Camera, Lomo

– Maraca Seasonal Retro Headphones, WeSC

– The Sweetly Diabolic Art of Jim Flora, Amazon

– Pura Cafetiere, La Cafetiere

Joy to the world

I remember that, when we we're kids, me and my sister often played with the figurines of my grandma's nativity scene. (Especially the angel was very popular).

But lately Christmas seems to be becoming more a commercial than a christian holiday with Santa Claus taking over the place of baby Jesus. A bit a shame especially with these lovely designed nativity sets on sale.

– Presepe Group, Alessi

– Girard nativity set, House Industries

– Handpainted Nativity Set, Goose Grease

Wish list: for kitchen princesses

I think of myself as a weekend cook. Every Friday I leave through my extensive cooking books and magazines looking for new recipes and then spend my weekend trying them out. Cooking in the week – way too stressy for me – is in the boyfriends capable hands.

The following wishlist is for all kitchen princes and princess, be it week or weekend.

• Salt & Pepper Shakers, Jonathan Adler

• Chopboard, Fine Little Shop

• Trivia Box and Dinner Party Honour Set, Jamie Oliver

• Farmer's Egg Crate, Anthropologie

If I get one wish for Christmas then it is for this talented designer to open up an online shop so I can stop drooling over my keyboard.

Drum roll

Pantone unveiled his coulour of 2010: turquoise.

"Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing."

So here are some inspirations how to make this bold colour work in your home.

Sparkling bright

Our Christmas tree is up and twinkling with anticipation for December 25th. I always go with a real one just because I love the smell of fresh pine.

So which tree did you choose?

A real one,

Homes and Gardens

a fake one,

Home sweet home

or a quirky one?
